► Learning more thru Screenshots

A picture is worth a thousand words, so lets take a look at some Jwaala MoneyTracker screenshots.

► iGoogle like Dashboard View

Jwaala MoneyTracker keeps track of a lot of information. To help you organize and understand all that information, just setup a quick Dashboard right in MoneyTracker. If you know about iGoogle, PageFlakes, or NetVibes, then this will be 2nd nature. Even if you don’t know about those apps, the Dashboard is as simple as choosing what you care about, then dragging it around to create the layout you want.

► Embeddable Widgets Galore

The “facebook” generation tends to want things on their own terms. This means they want information to come to them (instead of going to the information). Jwaala MoneyTracker handles that naturally and easily. Any of the widgets that are on your Dashboard can also be embedded anywhere you like. It’s just like embedding a YouTube video. Just grab the embed code and stick it in your blog, wiki, iGoogle, facebook, etc. And these are live widgets. If you update the budget for your Automobile spending widget on your Dashboard, then that widget updates whereever you embedded it. It’s just plain neat.

Notice the top left widget in this iGoogle portal.

► RSS Feeds for your Transactions

RSS has become the defacto “push” technology to deliver information. Ever wonder how those news headlines get into your Yahoo or iGoogle homepage? It’s most likely thru RSS. The beauty of RSS is that you can access RSS delivered information just about anywhere! Outlook, IE, Firefox, Safari, all have built in RSS readers. The Google feedreader, iGoogle, the Yahoo home page are all chock full of RSS delivered information.

What about getting your most recent transactions over $100 right in your Yahoo home page or in your favorite RSS reader! Well, you can do that. Any search in Jwaala MoneyTracker has an instant RSS feed available for the results, you don’t have to do anything except subscribe. Search on “home depot over 50″ and poof, there is an RSS feed.

► Take Notes on your Transactions

The one-way internet days are over. Showing people information is just not that interesting these days. People want (need) to be able to interact with the information, take notes, tag it, comment, rate, etc. This is the two-way internet, give and receive. Jwaala MoneyTracker takes this notion all the way into your transaction history. If you just spent $840 at Costco, over time you will probably forget what you really bought. No problem, just take a note like “bought a nikon D500 camera kit”. Done.

► Where is my Money Going?

Most people have no idea where their money really goes. We had one MoneyTracker user that told us “I stopped dying my hair because of MoneyTracker”. We had to follow up on that one! Well, it turns out this lady did not realize how much she was spending on her hair until she started tracking that with MoneyTracker (a hair spending widget basically!). All of a sudden, the fact that she spent so much on her hair was right there in front of her, and so she did what any responsible person would do, she stopped dying her hair.

► Find things easily, I mean really easily

Search is a killer app on the internet. When people go to LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, eBay, Amazon, etc, the first thing they do is search. So why is it when you go to online banking there is no search??? Think about it, you can’t find anything!

We think that’s not right. We made search a first class citizen in Jwaala MoneyTracker. Full blown natural language easy as pie search. Here are some example searches, and I bet we don’t even have to describe what they mean!

  • costco
  • costco last month
  • costco last month around $100
  • 1/10/2008 to 2/30/2008 costco around $100
  • nikon camera

No complicated forms with 8 boxes to fill in. Just type something in (order does not matter one bit) and we return meaningful results.

► Track your NetWorth

How much do you have? Sounds like an easy question, but it most people have to stop and really think about it. Not anymore. Jwaala MoneyTracker makes tracking your networth over time as easy as clicking on your networth report (or dashboard, or widget, well, you get the idea).

► Online Safety Deposit Box

Does an online safety deposit box sound like an oxymoron? Think about it this way. You put watches and rings and passports into a physical safety deposit box. But is just seems weird to put a PDF into a physical safety deposit box?! Instead, you should be putting these “soft” documents into a virtual or online safety deposit box.

Jwaala MoneyTracker has a complete document management capability. The bank or credit union can put any document into a user’s document area (like statements, newsletters, loan documents, etc). Then the user themselves can actually just go ahead and upload their own documents right into MoneyTracker. That’s right, since you are already using MoneyTracker to aggregate, manage, and understand all your finances and transactions, just go ahead and use MoneyTracker as your online safety deposit box as well.
